Your Investment Partner
At Barrington Asset Consulting (AFSL 363233), we provide non-conflicted investment advice that puts your best interests at the heart of everything we do. We ensure this by not managing client money, accepting commissions, or trading as principal – an increasingly rare stance in the investment consulting world.
BAC provides senior, experienced investment professional input into key investment decisions for clients. As we are a ‘fee-for-service’ consultancy, clients benefit from our proven expertise and our structural independence, both of which encourage free flowing discussion. BAC’s fees are transparent. Our consulting fees are not obscured in fund costs or brokerage charges.

Our team provides services to Australian non-retail clients from a range of sectors, with more than $10 million of financial assets to invest. In recent years we have helped clients with very diverse requirements, including sectors like higher education, faith-based, health, NDIS, trade union and local government.
Many clients are seeking more capital-secure investments, and an increasing number value the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations in their portfolios. BAC can help you with both.
What we offer:
- Investment Governance Reviews. We assist clients in reviewing, updating and strengthening of strategic investment goals and policy statements through individually surveying and collectively workshopping key fiduciaries. Four of the ~20 topics we address include risk and return expectations, ESG aims and liquidity requirements.
- Investment implementation. We provide groups with recommended strategic asset allocations and recommended investments.
- Ongoing investment advice. We are the trusted partner for organisations regarding their investment needs. Common deliverables include periodic investment governance and implementation support, addressing issues about the markets and the portfolio more generally.
- Investment Advisor Selection. We have a honed tender management process, including the ongoing monitoring of the target candidate universe, a considered request for proposal framework as well as substantial experience in facilitating presentation days.
- Fiduciary Support Service. We help investors select a trusted third party to support their ongoing needs – sometimes referred to as a wealth manager, investment consultant, investment adviser or implemented consultant. For clients who already have a third-party investment partner in place, we provide written assessments of investment reporting and contribute to client–partner investment meetings.
- Actuarial Support. We provide a suite of actuarial services including valuation/ calculation reviews and employee benefit calculations such as long service leave.
